BPM 50120

Strumming Pattern

Strum direction pattern to practice.

How to Practice

  1. 1Strum down on every beat (1, 2, 3, 4) and up on every '&'.
  2. 2All 8 strums should sound — keep equal weight on downs and ups.

Tips & Techniques

  • Keep your strumming arm moving in a constant 8th-note pendulum — even on 'miss' slots your arm swings through the air.
  • Start at 60 BPM and only speed up when the pattern feels automatic.
  • Count aloud: '1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &' while you play.
