BPM 50100

Strumming Pattern

Strum direction pattern to practice.

How to Practice

  1. 1Pattern: ↓↑ _ _ ↑ _ ↑ _
  2. 2After the opening down-up on beat 1, all remaining strums are upstrokes.
  3. 3Keep the arm moving in constant pendulum — beats 2 and 4 (down swings) pass through air.

Tips & Techniques

  • Keep your strumming arm moving in a constant 8th-note pendulum — even on 'miss' slots your arm swings through the air.
  • Start at 60 BPM and only speed up when the pattern feels automatic.
  • Count aloud: '1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &' while you play.
