Competition
The three boards you can appear on, how the monthly season resets, what finishing in the top 5 pays, and why your rank sometimes lags behind.
There isn't one leaderboard, there are three, and they rank completely different things, which is good news if you've only been here a week.
Three tabs: Seasons, Leaderboard and Gear.
Only the points you've earned this calendar month. A newcomer can win this
The all-time board: total points and total sessions, since the day you joined
Nothing to do with practice. Ranks players by the strength of the gear they've equipped in the Arsenal
A season is one calendar month. Seasonal points are kept in their own pile, separate from your all-time total, so on the 1st everybody starts from zero again. Nothing carries over, and nothing you've earned is lost from your all-time score.
Finish in the top 5 of a season and you get a one-off Fame payout when it ends: 500 / 300 / 200 / 100 / 50 Fame for 1st through 5th.
Next to each board you'll see where you stand. It's simply the number of players with a higher score than you, plus one.
The boards and your position are refreshed periodically rather than the instant you save a session, so a big evening of practice can take a while to show up. Your points are already counted; only the display is behind.
I practised a lot and my rank didn't move
Give it a little time. Boards refresh on a schedule; nothing is lost
Can I be top of one board and nowhere on another
Absolutely. The gear board rewards Fame spent in the Arsenal, the season board rewards this month's practice, and the all-time board rewards years of it
Do season rewards arrive automatically
The Fame is paid out when the season closes
