Scoring & Progress

Points, Levels & Streaks

Where points come from, how the streak multiplier grows everything you log, and what your level and your rank are actually built on.

Points are your record. They set your level, they put you on the rankings, and you can never spend them on anything — which is the whole idea. They only ever go up, and they only ever measure work you actually did.

The app's other currency, Fame, is a completely separate pile that you can spend. It has its own article: Fame & where it comes from.

Ways to earn points

+1

for every 3 minutes practised

+40

for learning a song

+10

for finishing your daily quests

+100

for clearing a Scale Map box

+100

for a monthly challenge recording

Healthy habits add up to 5 more points per session, and the streak bonus multiplies your practice time and habits on top of that.

  • Practice time. Every 3 minutes you log is worth 1 point. Technique, theory, hearing and creativity all pay the same.
  • Healthy habits. Tick things like warming up or using a metronome when you log a session; each one is worth a point, up to 5.
  • Learning a song. Marking a song as Mastered pays +40, but only once you've logged at least 10 minutes of practice on that song. Mark it early and the status changes without the points. Move it back out of Mastered and the +40 comes back off.
  • Daily quests. Finishing all three of a day's tasks pays +10 points, once you claim it.
  • Scale Map. Clearing a full box on the scale tree pays a one-time 100 points.
  • Monthly challenges. Every accepted recording on the current month's board pays 100 points, so a full board of five is 500. Recordings filed against a closed month don't pay.

The streak multiplier

Practise on consecutive days and every session that day is worth more. The bonus applies to your practice time and your habit points, and it's the closest thing the app has to a cheat code.

Day 1The streak starts, with no bonus yet
Day 2+20% on everything you log that day
Day 3+30%
Day 4+40%
Day 5 and beyond+50%, the maximum

Miss a day and it goes back to zero. A 10-minute session is enough to keep it.

Tip

Showing up for ten minutes on a busy day beats a three-hour Sunday. The streak rewards frequency, not heroics.

A worked example

Thirty minutes of practice on the fifth day of a streak:

Log a session
Technique20 min
Theory10 min
Hearing0 min
Creativity0 min

Healthy habits

Session is worth+19 points
30 min = +10 · three habits = +3 · a 5-day streak adds 50% of that 13 = +6 · total 19.

What points get you

Levels
Your total points set your level, and each level takes a little more than the last
Seasons
Every point also lands in the current month's season, a scoreboard that starts fresh on the 1st
Rankings
The all-time board ranks everyone by total points and sessions. The gear board is the exception — it ignores points entirely

Questions people ask

Do longer sessions pay a bonus?

No, the rate is flat at 1 point per 3 minutes. The multiplier comes from the streak, not from session length

Can I lose points?

Only by undoing something you were paid for, like moving a song back out of Mastered. Points are never taken away for inactivity

Why didn't my rank move?

Ranking positions are refreshed periodically rather than instantly, so a big session can take a little while to show up

Does it matter which category I practise?

Not for points. Time is time, whichever of the four it lands in

Can I spend points on anything?

No, and nothing in the app will ever ask you to. Spending is what Fame is for
